Some commonly held opinions.

A Christian is someone who ;

these are good things - but don't make someone a Christian

So a Christian
* believes that Jesus died for their rebellion against God
* knows that God accepts them because of Jesus
* seeks to follow and obey Jesus as Lord of their life

It's as easy as A, B, C, D
Admit that you have rebelled against God;
we owe God all our love - and instead spend years ignoring Him.
Believe that Jesus died in your place:
God is angry with our rebellion (or sin) - yet takes the punishment on Himself by the death of Jesus.
Count the Cost:
Obeying Jesus will bring persecution in this life - but God does not leave us alone, but lives in our heart by the Spirit of Jesus (the Holy Spirit).
Do something - Now!
It's never too late to turn away from rebellion (repent) and trust Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.

...by asking God to give us zeal in the following...
1. A Hunger for the Word of God
We grow by delighting in God's word, the Bible - on our own each day, in small groups each week, Sunday by Sunday.

2. A Passion for souls
We grow by praying for opportunities to love people enough to see them experience Jesus for themselves -which will include hospitality, being a good friend, invitations, personal evangelism.

3. A Longing for holiness
We grow by getting to know God better, and longing to walk in the way of His Spirit privately and in our relations with others.

4. A Willingness to make sacrifices We grow by being willing to serve out of the privilege of being used by our heavenly Father, not withstanding the cost to our time, energy, money, reputation or whatever.

5. A Love for the Lord Jesus
This is central to all of the above -without a love for the Lord Jesus, all else is worthless. But with it...

..."I have come that you may have life and have it to the full."
