The owners of Enderby Hall have manorial rights which include the patronage of Enderby Parish church. In the 1890s the Drummond Family owned Enderby Hall (Charlotte Drummond having inherited from Charles Brooke after his death as his niece). To read more about them click here. |
In 1890s Enderby the Church ran two schools within the village. A class from the infants school is shown above from 1897. The older children would have been good scholars who stayed in the schools longer, helping to teach the younger "scholars" |

The Rev. A Frewen Aylward held his office during the development of photography and it is from this time that many of the pictures we have of Enderby Church were taken. |
The Bishop of Trinidad appears to have been a close friend of the Rev. A Frewen Aylward. When in Britain he came to preach at Enderby and was so appreciated by the parish that he is commemorated with a plaque behind the pulpit. |
